Festival Weddings

Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandonment or not at all
Harriet von Horne

When it comes to a fantastically formal wedding breakfast there are few in the South West that will match us for style, grace, quality and attention to detail. But as wonderful as this type of event is, it doesn’t suit every couple.
Increasingly we are finding that our couples want a day with a twist, with less fuss, or something a little more laid back. Yes of course they want, and demand, exquisite food, faultless service and a day never to be forgotten, but they desire the chance to express themselves.
To accommodate those who just want something different we are pleased to offer for your matrimonial consideration some less structured options.
Start your afternoon, perhaps, wandering around the garden grazing from our fine selection of flat breads, pitta and artisan loaves with a selection of dips, tapenades and salsas. The Cambodian Wedding Dip is amazing!
If variety is your thing consider an afternoon of bowl food. Small palm sized dishes consumed as you stand and delivered to you by our attentive staff. Start with the fish stew, next the aubergine tagine, the sweet and sour paneer and the pork belly with tossed cabbage. Finish with the Devon rice pudding, salted caramel and apple jam. You decide which dishes, you decide which order they come in.
For some table entertainment why not consider our carve your own platters. We present each of your tables with a joint of meat and one of your guests (the one sat on the special chair) has to carve for the table. Wonderful meat matched only by the sight of uncle Ernie in a chefs hat and apron. Perhaps roasted Devon Sirloin, Somerset loin of pork or West Country leg of lamb.
If you want to relive those Festival moments why not consider our Festival Dining experience. For larger parties you could have a BBQ by the oak tree, giant paella under the gazebo and a hog roast near the shed. There would be salad stations, pudding stations and a huge table laden with beers and ciders. Watch your guests wander through the food choices with a plate becoming ever more loaded with wonderful food.
If you would like to discuss these less formal occasions, or if you have plans of your own please contact us with your thoughts.
